Wages vary by industry, area, company and hours, and are confirmed in consultation and the actual posting. Wages are paid by the hiring company.
Duration
Duration types
Even for the same work, how you find it depends on how long you'll work. Here's when businesses and job seekers each use each type.
Same-day
Working a single day.
- Businesses
- When someone suddenly can't come, or you need one more person for a day for an event or group booking
- Job seekers
- When you want to pick only the days you work, or try out the work first
Short-term
Work lasting from a few days to a few weeks.
- Businesses
- When you want more workers only for busy periods like peak season, holidays or opening preparation
- Job seekers
- When you want to work only for a set period, such as between jobs
Regular
Work that repeats on the same day and time each week.
- Businesses
- When you want to fill always-busy slots, like weekend lunches or weekday evenings, on a fixed basis
- Job seekers
- When you want to work steadily on set days and times that fit your routine
Long-term
Working long-term in a permanent position; may include monthly-salary postings.
- Businesses
- When you're looking for someone to work with long-term instead of hiring anew each time
- Job seekers
- When you want a stable income and a place to work long-term
Payment
Payment methods
Wages are paid by the hiring company. The actual amount and payday follow the terms in the posting.
Daily pay
A set amount per day of work. Usually described as paid the next day.
Hourly pay
Calculated by hours worked. Usually described as paid the next day.
Monthly salary
Paid monthly for long-term, permanent work.
Pay
Basic pay principles
- Daily wages may vary depending on the work, area, hours, experience and company conditions.
- Please confirm the final amount in consultation or in the individual job posting.
- Wages — daily, hourly or monthly — are paid by the hiring company.
- Daily and hourly pay is usually described as paid the next day, but the actual payday follows the posting and the company's terms.
If the posting states an amount
If an individual job posting states a confirmed wage, that amount is the standard. Check it together with working and break hours, and if you were told something different, let your counselor know right away.
About placement fees
Job placement fees follow the standards and procedures set by law, and are explained in the fee schedule posted at our office and during consultation.
